"Volunteering Gives Meaning to Time...Retirement, that long-awaited goal was finally here. Time for me, time to relax… time. Suddenly time was a little empty – too much time thinking only of myself. A note in the RSVP newsletter asking for volunteer drivers was the answer. Now, once a week or sometimes twice, others become more important.  A trip to the doctor or other medical appointments – all with older adults who have no other means of transportation. Now, time flies by with interesting conversations about family, lifestyles, memories of days gone by and each trip always ends with profuse “thank you’s” from people who really appreciate the ride. Time has so much more meaning since I became a West Texas RSVP Faith in Action driver."
