Senior Companion Program

Senior Companions are placed in a home environment and must be 55+ to assist a Senior with companionship. We have many seniors who are lonely and need someone to talk with.

Senior Companions assist in:

  • Reminding client to take their medications

  • Preparing light meals

  • Playing games, encouraging exercise

  • Light house keeping

  • Listening to them

Many times, the home caretaker is in need of help, so they can be allowed to run errands knowing their loved ones are not left alone.

(Schedules for Senior Companions are flexible).

  • A $4.00/hour stipend for each hour of service. (By federal law the stipend is not subject to tax or garnishment.)

  • Training is provided

  • On-the-job supplemental accident/liability/excess auto liability insurance

  • Mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle

  • Door-to-door transportation service provided by Concho Valley Transit

  • Annual physical examination paid if required at station site

  • Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon
