Texas Senior Corps Conference

2018 Training Event

The 2018 Texas Senior Corps Association Conference will take place May 21 - 23, 2018 at the Concho Valley Council of Governments in San Angelo.

This event will feature workshops on a variety of topics, including:

  • FCP, SCP and RSVP Program-Track Meetings

  • Cluster Conference learnings panel

A HOT Breakfast is provided free by the Hampton Inn, and two lunches, a dinner and a couple of snack breaks are all included.  There is also a fun evening activity planned for downtown shopping, to include Eggemeyer's General Store, located on the oldest street in San Angelo.  The conference early registration fee is $150.00 and is good through April 30.  After April 30, the fee goes up to $200.  The GSA room rate for the hotel is $131 per night, and there is a 17% tax rate.  To make your hotel reservations, call 1-800-452-5110.  Hotel registration deadline is May 13, 2016.

Accomodations

A full hot breakfast at the hotel is included in the room rate and we plan to provide all meals at the conference (lunch and dinner on Monday and Tuesday).  The hotel is located about 200 yards from the Concho Valley Council of Governments offices where the conference sessions will be held.  We will provide shuttle service to and from the hotel as well as transportation to the dinner locations on Monday and Tuesday.

Dates:          Rooms are reserved for Sunday night, May 20 – Tuesday night, May 22.  The name on the room block is Tx Sr Corp.

 

Schedule:    The conference will begin about 11:30 am on Monday, May 21 and we will adjourn about noon on Wednesday, May 23.  Most of you have indicated that you will be arriving on Sunday, but a few plan to drive in on Monday.

 

Reservation Instructions:  You may call the hotel directly at the number listed above or book on-line at the Hampton Inn website using the Group Code TSC.  There was a snag earlier when someone got transferred to the international reservation center and they did not have all of the date and rate information.  The website appears to working well or call the hotel directly.  If you call the hotel, please indicate you want to make a reservation under a group block and do not let the desk transfer you to the international call center.
